Get Involved

The Trust depends on volunteers to help run its events. If you would like to become involved e.g. by helping with events in your local area, please get in touch. Current volunteers include retired teachers, former officials of the institutions, and people who have an interest in Education. Expenses will be covered.

Part-time internships are also available with the Trust, on an unpaid basis. In addition to general administration, duties include helping to organise the following:
  • For primary schools, including local heats around India. This involves setting the questions, liaising with local authorities, schools, local press, politicians, sponsors and the Indian Parliament
  • Assisting staff on planning and coordinating the Our Film Competition for secondary school students.
  • Other responsibilities include taking minutes at Trustee meetings, the creation and continuous updating of all social media including the Trust's Facebook and Twitter pages, and other ad-hoc administrational and personal assistant duties.

The Trust is unable to offer a salary, but expenses will be covered. Although the internship is unpaid, useful contacts can be made and the references can be provided. Past interns have gone on to work at the Parliament and at other institutions and they would be happy to answer any queries you may have about working for the Trust.
