SBECT Goals

Academic formulates of Trust plan with clear attainable goals. 2013 will focus on:

  • Capacitating teachers in training and qualified teachers and principals to deliver practical good quality NELS and CAPS aligned learning solutions in the classroom.
  • Achieving 500 pre-school children sponsored through Adopt-a-Child’s-Education programme by 2014;
  • Becoming a satellite training centre for a recognised FET centre, providing comprehensive skills development and learnerships for practitioners
  • Extending and improving the availability of teaching resources to practitioners through the establishment of a centrally located comprehensive resource centre;
  • Providing feeding schemes to all of the pre-schools, beyond the current 4 pre-schools that receive funding for lunch meals and snacks;
  • Raising the balance of the funds required to build two new pre-schools for Happy Faces and Wonderland Educare
  • Implementing and extending the Numicon mathematics programme to all affiliated pre-schools following the successful pilot project of 2012 within 3 sample pre-schools.
  • Extending and growing the mother tongue literacy programme to all pre-schools
  • By providing holistic and multi disciplinary approach to services. Measured by the rate of growth and development of our multi disciplinary services.
  • Establishing good networks. Measured by the number of partner authorities working with us and levels of referrals and services required from SBECT.
  • Managing change, being resilient and successful to ensure survival. Measured by our continuing to grow our business and enhance the quality of outcomes for our students.
